An elegant yet intense floral-fruity amber fragrance with fresh, green undertones, this is a luxurious and opulent scent that expresses a longing for a place of sensual calm, a respite from daily worries, a break from human anguish.
In our current historical moment, I felt the need to offer not a provocative and divisive creation, but something that could bring solace to the spirit, an invitation to connect with oneself and temporarily forget one’s daily worries.
“Luxe Calme Volupté” is a recurring line taken from Baudelaire’s beautiful poem Invitation to the Voyage:
There, all is order and beauty,
Luxury, peace and pleasure.
In this poem, Baudelaire invites his beloved to accompany him to an exotic place where they can live in calm and peace, whilst still reflecting his decadent aesthetic.
Luxe Calme Volupté is also the name of a large painting by Henri Matisse, very dear to me, which conveys the same ideas that have inspired my perfumes, namely the juxtaposition of a calm and peaceful character on the one hand, and decadent elements on the other.
